SI ONSITE is a series of commissioned and borrowed semi-permanent works and installations exhibited in non-gallery spaces of the building.. In the reception area, reading room, stairways, hallways, roof, elevator and other interstitial spaces, artists have contributed to the daily life of the building with artworks in the form of plants, scents, curtains, murals, clothing, seating, a visitor survey and more.

Gabriel Kuri produced untitled public art work, a long term piece commissioned for the Swiss Institute building in New York that comprises two series of sturdy baked enamel plaques that will run up the two respective staircases of the building. The spectator will find the names of a number of corporations (that the artist is affiliated with) fixed on the vertical side of some steps, parallel to the same number of different codes along the opposing staircase. The activation of a system of correspondence can be experienced by the spectator by circulating vertically through these connecting areas of the building.

Opening: June 27, 2019
