We are glad to announce the activities for the first semester of 2008. In March the Swiss artist Thomas Hirschhorn will produce the installation Poor Tuning, and in May, the Thai filmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul will present Unknown Forces, a video-installation. Both projects have been specially developed for kurimanzutto's space in Juan de la Barrera 116.
During May, kurimanzutto in collaboration with OPA (Artistic Projects Office) will present a project by Carlos Amorales in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Minerva Cuevas and Monika Sosnowska have solo shows at Van Abbemuseum (Netherlands) and Schaulager (Switzerland) respectivelly. Daniel Guzmán first solo show in a museum from the US will be exhibited: Double Album at the New Museum, New York.
Among the group exhibitions Abraham Cruzvillegas, Gabriel Kuri, and Jonathan Hernández take part of the New Museum's inaugural exhibition: Unmonumental. Carlos Amorales, Dr. Lakra, and Jimmie Durham will show their work at Martian Museum of Terrestrial Art, Barbican Art Gallery (UK). Daniel Guzmán and Gabriel Kuri have been invited to the 5th Berlin Biennial.
We are also pleased to inform that the Artist Research Fellowship (Smithsonian Institution) has been granted to Abraham Cruzvillegas, who will carry on a research in different museums in Washington D.C. during February and March. |
