Oscar Murillo. Collective Osmosis is a major exhibition at DAS MINSK and Museum Barberini, bringing together works by Oscar Murillo in dialogue with paintings by Claude Monet.
For Murillo, the scientific metaphor of osmosis—the process by which water particles move through a semi-permeable membrane to reach equilibrium—offers a way to think about opening the museum: building connections between interior and exterior spaces, between the museum and the city, and between Potsdam and the wider world.
For the exhibition, Murillo has created a series of new paintings, on view at both museums. At the same time, key works from renowned series by Claude Monet will be presented at DAS MINSK.
The exhibition features new abstract paintings by the artist from the Surge, Scarred Spirits, and Disrupted Frequencies series and invites visitors to participate in the creation of a collaborative artwork during the summer months.
