As part of "Culto Lencho" project, by the artist Issa Téllez, an exorcism will be carried out to the existing heteronorm in some sapphic vogueras bodies of Mexico.
Exorcisms are very common rituals within Christian communities and one of the most frequent is to "expel" homosexual demons through chanting and repetitive prayers that the pastor makes with the exorcised person. The movement is also used to "cast out demons."
This performance is a vindication of the bodies that we have had to exorcise the heteronorm, exploring ourselves with the sex siren, the vogue fem and the chanting, which are categories and an important part of ballroom culture.
